03/20/2020 Recycling & Cardboard Services--At this time, the Town of Floyd will not be collecting business recycling and cardboard or curbside recycling from residents.  This will allow the highest protection for our Public Works staff so they will not be handling and sorting recycling materials.  We ask that you continue to break down your cardboard and stack as much as you can into another container to help conserve your space.  We will continue to collect all garbage on Tuesday and Fridays weekly.

Floyd County is closely monitoring events surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  The situation is changing rapidly and we will continue to monitor the information as it is released. 

Please do not call 911 for information regarding the Coronavirus.

Call the Health Department Hotline for COVID-19 at 540-267-8240, if you have developed a fever and/or symptoms of a respiratory illness (e.g. cough, difficulty breathing) and or traveled outside of the US within the last 14 days or to one of the areas of widespread transmission of COVID-19 (West Coast: Washington and California or New York) please contact the hotline to determine if testing for COVID-19 is needed. 

Hotline Hours: M-F 8am-8pm, Saturday 8am-12 noon, Sunday 12noon-4pm

For questions related to Coronavirus, Virginia Deparment of Health (VDH)  has set up a hotline 877-ASK-VDH3.

T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST FOR 2020 FLOYD SMALL TOWN SUMMER

(Deadline extended to Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 4:00pm)

 

The Town of Floyd is proud to announce Phases III & IV of the Heritage Pathways of Floyd grant project with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has begun construction of 4,000 linear feet of sidewalk along Oxford, Page, and Fox Streets. Expected project duration is from August 2019 to January 2020, updates will be available at www.townoffloyd.org.

You will experience disruption in traffic patterns and closed travel lanes on the following streets:

East Oxford Street, West Oxford Street,

Page Street, Fox Street, and Penn Avenue

We appreciate your patience for the duration of the project as we improve upon the pedestrian pathways in our community.
